Meet Sue Prins
Sue has been teaching quilting skills for over 20 years, in SA and other Southern African countries, including the past 6 South African National Quilt Festivals. She has been an accredited SAQG Quilt Judge since 1996 and currently holds the Judging Forum portfolio on the SAQG Committee. Her work has won a Best of Show award at National Quilt Festival in 2008 as well as a First Prize – Country of Origin in the World Quilt Competition. "My main emphasis in teaching is to impart good quilt-making skills, especially for hand work, as well as an appreciation for excellent and original quilt design."
Sue “discovered” quilting in the 1970's, during the Great Quilt Revival, and quilting is now a huge part of her life. Her quilts have won several awards, both nationally and internationally. She teaches quilting classes throughout South Africa, with the emphasis on sharing traditional hand techniques - piecing, appliqué and quilting.
