Are you stuck in a creative rut? Do you need to recharge your creative spirit? Like a fresh box of crayons on the first day of school, this colorful presentation will arm you with the inspiration you need to create beautiful quilts and help you overcome the “stuff” that gets in your way. Part lecture, part Q&A, you’ll leave inspired to quilt more!
Jennifer Keltner: Eat, Sleep, Quilt.
These are the three necessities in life (though not always in that order). They parallel the life that Jennifer Keltner is fortunate to lead as Executive Editor of American Patchwork & Quilting. Relax and enjoy as Jennifer shares quilts and behind-the-scenes stories of what goes into the making of one of the premiere quilting magazines.
Kimmy Brunner: Longarm Quilting For Beginners
Are you a new longarm machine owner, or are you curious about what's involved in longarm quilting? If so, please join us for a fun, fact-filled hour that's brimming with information. You'll see just exactly what happens once a quilt is loaded on one of these machines and how very easy it is to create stunning results in a fraction of the time required for hand quilting and without the stress and strain on your body that domestic machine quilting can produce.
Kimmy Brunner: Twirly Whirly Feathers
Lush, gorgeous, over the top feathers have been sweeping the quilting world and when quilters see them, they want them! While these designs look complicated and intricate, they are surprisingly simple to execute and can be accomplished by both domestic and frame quilters alike. After learning these techniques and doing a little practice at home, you'll be amazed at how quickly you’ll be able to breathtakingly beautiful feather designs. Please bring a notebook, pencil, and all of your questions.
Kimmy Brunner: Creating Design Perfection With Templates
Templates can seem scary at first, and yet there’s no other tool that can make a new longarm quilter's work look so good with so little effort. See for yourself just how user-friendly these fabulous tools can be once you know how to safely and effectively use them! Kim will show you how to creatively use an assortment of templates, enabling you to create beautiful designs that look perfect every single time. (these designs are also suitable for domestic machine quilters) Bring a notebook, pencil, and all of your questions.
Ted Hoffman: The Business of Fabric
The CEO of Clothworks, will give you an insidersperspective on how fabric is designed, manufactured and sold in today’s global marketplace. You’ll also go inside a modern printing mill and see up close how quilting fabric is transformed from a nearly raw state to a finished product in less than a day.
